Jon DeVore's post from redbullairforce.com

Just wanted to share a great shot from photographer Michael Clark. Miles, Mike and myself with families in tow had an epic journey this weekend. There truly are amazing cliffs to jump here in the good old USA. The Search is on for more.

Game Changers / The ten greatest adventurers since 1900.

Number 10. Loïc Jean-Albert 1978

WHAT HE DID: In 2003, the Réunion Island native donned a wingsuit, leapt from a heli, and made like a super squirrel, skimming 15 feet above the rock and snow of Verbier, clocking 100 miles per hour. He covered half a mile before pulling the rip cord on his chute.

LEGACY: Jean-Albert didn't invent the wingsuit, but he works it like no one else. Sure, it's mostly a stunt—but it's also the closest humans have come to Superman-style flight.

CLOSING ARGUMENT: The Wright

.
brothers, Chuck Yeager,

John Glenn—they all had good stuff.

But watch their old flight reels, then punch up Loïc on YouTube. You'll see.

Eiger Ridge by Joby

Joby Ogwyn is a talented high altitude climber with an amazing carreer. He holds the record for being the youngest American to scale Mt. Everest and the youngest mountaineer in history to ascend the highest peak on each continent, the Seven Summits.
But he’s also an excellent wingsuit pilot. Last fall he spent a few months flying in Switzerland and exploring new exits points.
Joby has been flying S-fly for more than 2 years. He flies the Profly and the Expert. Joby particularly likes « the extra range and speed the Profly gives and it has a very stable flight close to big mountains ».
Here are some great shots he did, flying the Eiger East ridge.

Joby’s next goal is a speed ascent, this spring, on Everest mountain,  to try and beat his own record set in 2008 of 9h30 mn to the summit. He will then go to Switzerland close to the Eiger for the summer, training for a new and secret wingsuit project in fall.
